Site is on the north edge of an open 1 acre field about ½ mile from the Meramec river, in a low spot in the hills just above the river valley. Protected by large trees and brush from the north, east and west. Exposed to sun from mid morning to late afternoon.

2 deep brood boxes, currently + 1 medium super. Locally raised Italian queen 1 yr old in 2012.
Scale:
Howe platform scale, 1,000 lb capacity, graduated in ¼ lb increments, with a small roof over the beam arm.
Forage:
Dandelion, wild plum, autumn olive, Blackberry, persimmon, crabapple, Black locust, honey locust, clover, soybeans, aster, goldenrod.
